How High Blood Sugar Levels Develops from our Diet
For most people, impaired control and use of glucose starts with diets rich in sugar and/or fats. The initial impact is generally in the liver. Cells use glucose mainly through a process celled “Glycolysis”. As we grow older, often the cells of the liver become overwhelmed with glucose entering glycolysis which leads to metabolic stress, inflammation and insulin resistance. This is called ‘Glycolytic overload”. The liver starts trying to counter this by exporting excessive glucose continually. The liver also develops decreased sensitivity to insulin which normally stops it producing glucose when we eat; after meals glucose formation in the liver is not needed as glucose is being absorbed from food. What Makes GlucoRegulate Better?

What is Resveratrol?
Resveratrol is a polyphenol compound found in various beverages and plant-based foods, most commonly from red wine and the skin of red grapes. Other sources include blueberries, cranberries, mulberries and peanuts. However, the amount of Resveratrol found in these sources is minimal, meaning a very large intake of food/drink is needed to ingest the same amount of Resveratrol found in one capsule of GlucoRegulate. trans-Resveratrol from one capsule equates to approximately one thousand times the amount in the average daily diet. It is not possible to consume this amount from the diet from grape juice as it would require 8 litres of grape juice, which would mean an excessive intake of sugar (132 grams which is 440% of daily recommended adult intake). Hence, supplements are ideal to help regulate blood glucose levels.

Is all trans-Resveratrol the same?
Resveratrol comes in many forms, the purest and most researched form is trans-Resveratrol. It is commonly derived from Japanese knotweed and used in capsules in the form of a powder. When supplied with a purity of at least 99%, trans-Resveratrol is a white powder and almost odourless. However, there are many supplements on the market with low purity and low quality, they appear as a brown powder with a strong distinctive odour. If the supplier is unable to provide a Certificate of Analysis from 3rd party lab tests than you should avoid that supplement. As a general rule, only consider supplements with at least 99% purity of trans-Resveratrol.
What is Hesperetin?
Hesperetin is a flavanone compound found in citrus fruits such as oranges, grapefruits, tangerines, lemons and limes. The amount found in juices of these fruits is very low. Hesperetin from one capsule equates to approximately one hundred times the amount of Hesperetin in the average daily diet, mostly from orange juice. Again, this is not possible to consume through our diet due to the excessive intake of sugar, hence supplements are ideal.
